So! I just bought a M-Audio Axiom 49 the other day so I guess ill write a small review for it.
I wanted a MIDI controller because I like to make music and I can't stand using piano rolls and stuff like that I need a hardware toy to play around with makes it more realistic and fun. I also wanted a piano that I could learn some music theory and some songs on. So I went to Long & McQuade to try and find something that could suit my needs, everything was waaay too expensive for me until I saw this little gem. $269 second-hand. So I bought it hoping for the best :D

(A pic of what I'm talking about)
This thing is build like a machine. No cheap crappy plastic here, Its got really nice feeling semi-weighted keys and rubber knobs and faders. The keys and pads are velocity sensitive which is really nice to get realistic sounding drums and whatnot. It has a really nice pitch and mod wheels. One thing about it is the interface. Its confusing as hell! and the owners manual is hardly any help. But alas it is an amazing product, completely powered by USB. It came with a free trial of Ableton Live but I already have it :p.
I give it a 9/10

With my only complaint being that its not as noob-friendly as I hoped, but I guess if I took the time to play around with it I could figure out some cool features. Great product for any one looking for a cheapish MIDI keyboard to use that has a lot of features and is very durable.
i need to get one of these too. there's a game/application called synthesthia that i would love to play with
ReplyDeletethat thing looks awesome, i'd insta-get one of those if i were any talented with music :D

ReplyDelete@THRASHER Well depends on what you want to do with it really :P. You could get a small Korg nano key for around 60-70$ they look pretty fun for just tappin out midi notes.
ReplyDelete@freddieblue1 What kind of music do you make, and what program do you use for making it?
